TheSoul Metadata Translator · last updated 16 July 2026
This browser extension helps authorized users translate YouTube video title and description metadata into multiple languages from within YouTube Studio.
Solely to generate translations and to authorize access. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell it.
Source metadata is cached locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local) on your device and is sent to our backend only when you request a translation. The backend processes each request in memory and does not store your metadata or translations. Requests may be temporarily logged for operational monitoring and reliability, and are not used for any other purpose. The backend stores each channel's OAuth refresh credential in a backend-only Cloudflare KV record keyed by YouTube channel ID; regular extension users never receive that credential.
The extension runs only on studio.youtube.com. It uses browser "storage" to cache source metadata locally and "identity" only to request an OpenID Connect identity token for company-account authorization. The extension does not request a per-user YouTube Data API scope. The authenticated backend performs the requested YouTube API read or update with the stored connection for the current channel.
You can clear local data by removing the extension at any time. Translation and saving start only after your explicit click. Existing localizations are skipped unless you explicitly enable overwrite. The extension never uploads audio or clicks Publish. Access is limited to authorized Google Workspace accounts.
